92033 Railway Heritage Trust Caledonian SleeperWith a very similar career to No. 92028, No. 92033 was one of nine SNCF-owned Class 92s and carried the name Berlioz after the French composer. Taken into stock in June 1995 its early career saw it plying its trade between Dollands Moor and locations such as Wembley and Daventry. Under EWS the fleet gradually spread their wings and the early 2000s even saw them working West Coast Main Line MGR coal workings and long-hauled Enterprise trains like the Mossend-Eastleigh ‘Enterprise’ wagonload services. Stored at Crewe IEMD in April 2006, No. 92033 was moved with several colleagues to Europorte 2’s depot in Coquelles, France in July 2011 after being acquired from SNCF, bringing all 16 of the non-Railfreight Distribution Class 92s under the same owner. Returned to the UK in the early 2014, it was moved to Brush Traction, Loughborough, for repairs and reliability modifications, which were completed in February 2015, the upgrade costing around £2 million. Initially released into traffic in plain teal for testing with No. 92018, the Caledonian Sleeper logos were applied at the start of April and this pair along with unrefurbished but repainted No. 92038 handled the early days of the new Serco sleeper contract along with hired in Nos. 86101, 86401 and 87002. No. 92033 returned to Brush between February and June 2018 for Dellner fitment and upgrades for working with the delayed CAF Mk.5 coaches, which in the end did not enter service for another 16 months. More recently, in May 2022, the Class 92 was dedicated Railway Heritage Trust at and event at London Euston, although sadly the nameplates were only vinyl embellishments.

A Harrowing Account of Addiction, Recovery, and Relapse
Format: Hardcover
Greg Pizzoli’s The Watermelon Seed offers a deceptively simple yet profound exploration of addiction, recovery, and relapse. Through the crocodile’s obsessive love for watermelon, his panic upon swallowing a seed mirrors the fear and anxiety of losing control. The cycle of indulgence, dread, and inevitable return to the source of both pleasure and distress reflects the cyclical nature of addiction. Pizzoli’s playful illustrations mask a darker undercurrent: the crocodile knows watermelon may harm him — yet he cannot resist. A chillingly accurate portrait of the addictive mind, wrapped in the guise of a children’s story.

Cute but
Format: Hardcover
Caution that some children may be alarmed by the crocodile swallowing the watermelon seed. Know your audience. Otherwise a very cute, silly story that is great for a summer read or watermelon theme lesson.

A Special Education Treasure
Format: Board book
I bought this book with one student in mind. A third grade autistic, non verbal, girl with a love for books, animals and reflective surfaces (windows, puddles, utensils and mirrors to name a few). The bright, cheerful illustration was the immediate interest upon her first look. The engaging fun story kept her attention. The last page captivated her. What a complete joy to watch! She will now say "Wiggle" when she wants this book - several times a day. She follows along with her finger while I read. I do not read the last page. She does that all ON HER OWN! Did I mention non verbal?! I'm purchasing another as a Christmas surprise for her to have at home. I highly recommend this book as a fixture in the classroom for Special Education and Early Learning.
