Town on the Telly looks back at all the Ipswich Town games played live on television up to the end of the 2021/22 season. Throughout the main part of the book, Karl shares his memories as a Town fan of over 40 years of watching the games whether at the ground, or on TV, that have been screened live by the BBC, ITV, Channel 5 or Sky (no iFollow, red button or any other type of streaming – legal or illegal).

Town legend Matt Holland provides the foreword, whilst there are some personal memories and stories from Karl including detailing our progress along the way in between each live game for many of the seasons.

There are match details for all games screened to date including the opposition, score, date of game, kick-off time, competition, venue, attendance, TV channel, name of Ipswich Manager, Referee’s name, line-ups for both Ipswich and the opposition, and times of goals and substitutions.

The latter part of the book looks back on the key dates, milestones and TV records.
If you are looking for that game that was screened live but cannot remember its details, or even just curious at which games have been shown live on television and memories of the game, then this book is for you.

All the eras from Sir Bobby Robson, John Lyall, George Burley, Joe Royle, Jim Magilton, Roy Keane, Ian McParland, Paul Jewell, Mick McCarthy, Paul Hurst, John McGreal and Kieran McKenna, are reviewed in detail.

About the Author

Karl Fuller was born in September 1971 in Colchester Hospital. An Ipswich Town fan since August 1978, when his first game coincided with the debut of the Dutch master Arnold Muhren. Karl served on the supporter’s club media committee of ITFC and undertook player interviews for the fanzine ‘Those Were The Days’.

His writing experience started back in 2002 when he was asked to write a column for the Clacton Town Matchday Programme and this was titled the Fuller Flavour, before becoming the Editor of the programme in early 2004. He held this position for seven years and at the end of the 2009/10 season, the programme was voted the Programme of the Year for the Eastern Counties League. This award was won in all seven seasons as Editor.

After also writing for the Clacton Gazette, Daily Gazette, The Non-League paper, and the website of the Non-League 24 magazine, Karl became the Ipswich Town Columnist for the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star newspapers in September 2012. He also writes feature articles for the Ipswich Town magazine ‘Kings of Anglia’.

Married to Pegga, Karl has four children – sons Karl and Craig, and twin daughters Lola and Angel.

Best sunscreen I tried. Be sure to rub it in and let it absorb into your skin.
Size: 6.76 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: Lotion (SPF 50)
This is an excellent product that absorbs quickly and leaves no chalky white or thick oily residue. UVA and UVB protection at spf 50. Two out of four of the active ingredients are double the amount in other brands and it has more of the two remaining ingredients so I guess it’s not my imagination that it’s more effective than other brands I’ve used. No detectable odors. Has an ingredient to help sand from sticking but I haven’t been on sand so can’t comment on that. It left white marks on the edge of the neck of my black crew neck T-shirt when I didn’t rub the sunscreen in and let it dry. However the marks came out in the wash. It stays where you put it, but keep it away from the eyes. Expensive probably because there are more of the active ingredients. I use it only on my face and neck but it is the best sunscreen I have tried.

Best sunscreen
Size: 6.76 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: Lotion (SPF 50)
Best sunscreen ever. No breakouts. No scent (crucial). Melts into your skin, lasts for a good while. Expensive but worth it.

Might stain certain fabrics?
Size: 6.76 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: Lotion (SPF 50)
Great product, works well. My only complaint is I believe it might have stained my white, UV blocking running top. After the first use there was yellowing all long the neckline and sleeves where I either accidentally got it on the shirt or sweating transferred it on. I’ve never had this problem before and can’t 100% be sure the lotion itself is to blame but it is the only thing that changed from other times I ran in that top. I haven’t noticed this problem with other tops so I’m not sure if it was the material itself or the color that reacted. Still going to give it 5 stars because I like the product.

My favorite.
Size: 6.76 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: Lotion (SPF 50)
I love this stuff. It's non-comedogenic, so it doesn't break me out. I've noticed a considerable difference in my acne scars after using it for a couple weeks. It is a little greasy and there's a very slight white cast, but I don't mind because I just let it dry and then put some powder over the top. Plus, the cast is easy to rub in and makes my skin tone look more balanced (I am white, though). Hope this helps!

Good sunblock
Size: 6.76 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: Lotion (SPF 50)
This is my go-to sunblock reconnect by my dermatologist. It has a good skin feel, and seems to do the job required.
