The ULTIMATE 81™ NM style is the modern luxury incarnation of our archetypal running style, the ULTIMATE 81™ model. Originally crafted in the 1980’s for everyone from recreational joggers to marathon runners, the ULTIMATE 81 style combined advanced high spec materials and techniques of the time.

The ULTIMATE 81™ model was developed based on marathon running shoes with a slick unique form, in contrast to other running shoes of the time. The updated feature here was the attention paid to technical elements and running performance, over weight reduction, which was the prevailing design focus at the time.

Unlike other running shoes, the ULTIMATE 81™ model married cross-trainers with running shoes for a style all its own. It had the sleek form of a running style, yet also an outer sole with the height and roll-up design of a lifestyle shoe. Incorporated into the heel of inner sole, GEL™ technology provides superior cushioning and fit.
