About: Following on from his recent nebula-inspired paintings, Mirko Junkovic has produced a new body of contemporary abstract works called Re-Emergence. Although these new paintings capitalise on some of the bold colour interactions and fluid paint application techniques developed throughout the Nebula Series, we now see him beginning to make broader references to some of the primal elements of our planet’s development. Previous preoccupations with rock formation, fire, vegetation and topography have re-emerged as inspirational starting points. Mirko also explores the more expansive diptych format creating new dynamic relationships between two related canvases.

Artist Info: Mirko Junkovic is a contemporary artist based in Cambridge. His abstractions are inspired by and are a response to different features of the extraordinary natural world, from both macro and micro viewpoints. Landscape, coastline, gardens, rocks, plants, the cosmos, the human body - all have, at different times, provided a wealth of visual information contributing to Mirko’s various projects.
His approach to painting is through intuition and exploration. Each new piece is an opportunity to embark on a journey into uncharted territory, exploiting the innate properties and characteristics of paint and mixed-media, producing the space for invention and discovery at every stage.

Fits my needs

I purchased this specifically for the garbage disposal side of my kitchen sink. I only needed it to hold my sink stopper. I haven't used th basket yet, but will probably use it for a steel scrubber. It's a little on the small side, but it works great for me.
