ABOUT THE ART

In 'Misfits' (2022), Hijack fuses classical art history with the raw energy of street culture, creating a striking visual dialogue between past and present. The composition features two of his signature hooded figures physically interacting with a traditionally framed painting, forcefully inserting a vivid, graffiti-style tag across its surface. The explosive pink lettering disrupts the formal composition, symbolizing a rebellious takeover—where street art doesn’t just coexist with tradition, but actively challenges and redefines it.

This act of “intervention” is central to Hijack’s practice. His hooded figures, often faceless and anonymous, represent the modern individual navigating identity within a world shaped by culture, media, and history. In 'Misfits', they become agents of disruption—outsiders rewriting the rules of what art is allowed to be. The title reinforces this narrative, celebrating those who exist outside the boundaries of convention while questioning who gets to define artistic value.

As the son of Mr. Brainwash, Hijack’s work carries a clear lineage in its use of appropriation, bold color, and layered visual references. However, where Mr. Brainwash often leans into pop spectacle and cultural celebration, Hijack introduces a more introspective and subversive edge. His work engages directly with themes of authorship, originality, and rebellion, positioning him as a compelling voice in the next generation of contemporary street and pop art.

Smaller and more expensive than artisian deskmats
Color: Black
These are slightly smaller than the standard artisan deskmats and double the price.. It's also about half the thickness, so there's not as much padding. This isn't a huge deal. if the felt is on the bottom, it doesn't grip to the desk very well. The wireless charger is okay, but I found it bulky. Having a small dedicated 3 in 1 charging stand was more convenient for me. If you have a heaver mechanical keyboard, you won't be able to lift this thing to see underneath it. Overall, this is an okay deskmat and it'll serve it's purpose when I'm washing my regular deskmat, but not my favorite.

Don’t bother, not worth the $
Much smaller in person than it appears. Looks more like a piece of coral than a tree. I got this to display some ornaments for sale at craft fairs, but it’s so small, it looks silly with the ornaments on it. Super flimsy, made of cheap plastic. Definitely not worth $14. Will be returning.
