Description

Boeing 707 / TWA Airplane ModelBoeing 707 TWA wooden plane model. In August, 1952, the company took the bold step of gambling some 16 million dollars to build the prototype of a completely new turbojet powered civil transport. Boeing was sufficiently realistic to appreciate from the very beginning that its large private venture investment, even in 1952 dollars, was nowhere near the amount that would be needed if large scale production of a civil airliner was to become a reality.

Boeing 707 TWA wooden plane model. In August, 1952, the company took the bold step of gambling some 16 million dollars to build the prototype of a completely new turbojet-powered civil transport. Boeing was sufficiently realistic to appreciate from the very beginning that its large private-venture investment, even in 1952 dollars, was nowhere near the amount that would be needed if large-scale production of a civil airliner was to become a reality. Shrewdly, they developed the initial design to serve as a high-speed military transport, or inflight-refueling tanker, banking upon gaining a military contract which would underwrite the tooling costs and provide finance for the development of a first-class civil airliner. The prototype, known as the Dash-80, flew for the first time on July 15, 1954, and on October 5, 1954 Boeing's gamble paid off, they were awarded an initial contract for 29 KC-135A tanker/transports (the military version of the 707). Then, on October 13, 1955, Boeing received the first contract for six civilian aircraft from Pan American, with the inaugural flight on October 26, 1958, on Pan Am's New Your-London route. However, it was not until the Model 707-320 intercontinental, that sustained scheduled transatlantic flights began on October 10, 1959. When production of the 707 came to an end in 1990, a total of 999 aircraft had been built, in several variations. The Boeing 707-320C had a maximum speed of 627 mph, maximum cruising speed of 605 mph, service ceiling of 39.000 feet, and a range with maximum fuel and 147 passengers of 5,755 miles.

Mahogany Wood. Scale: 1/100. Wingspan 17 1/2 inches, Length 18 1/2 inches.

Fantastic Mount especially on rough Roads
Robust and discretely positioned mount. This mount is the real deal. It is by far the highest quality most stable mount that I've ever had in my Tacoma pickup. I also really like that it's positioned closer to the steering wheel in instead of in the windshield, making it easier to view. Very highly recommended!!

Perfecto Product!!
I rarely write reviews, however on this product I need too. This clearly is a pricey phone mount, but after reading so many reviews I went for it & purchased. After opening, I immediately could see & feel the quality of material used. Installation was surprisingly easy & quick to my Tacoma. The mount is very firm, sturdy, very adjustable, perfectly designed product. For as costly as this was, I have absolutely no regrets! Totally can recommend this product to anyone with a Tacoma within the stated production years. So as so many others have said accurately in reviews, I am beyond satisfied even with the cost in mind.

5 Stars with 1 Call-Out….
SOLID built like a tank! Really like the all-metal design. No vibration on the road and minimal if any off road, extremely stable. 360 adjustability = endless options on positioning your phone. Overall a good buy considering fit, form and functionality as compared to the less expensive composite holders that shake move and rattle (Drives me nuts). The ONLY negative…. I have a pro max iphone with a case and there’s no way one-handed operation works to insert and remove the phone into the holder. You can use one hand to adjust the angle and positioning but not otherwise. An OFI for OffRoam, incorporate a tension adjustment into the design for ease of insertion and removal of the phone (without breaking the bank). Taking all things into consideration the pros far outweigh the cons! Best unit out there for Gen 3 Tacoma owners.
