Most cat beds are either a flat mat or a fully enclosed igloo. PawDome™ sits between the two — a half-open arch gives your cat a roof overhead and walls on three sides without blocking the view. The cat-head shape with its two pointed ears is a nice detail for the room. The dangling pom-pom toy hanging from the inside roof is a practical one: cats that won't settle in a new bed often warm to it faster when there is something to bat at first.
Cat-head arch opening
The opening is shaped as a round arch with two small pointed ears at the top — a detail that reads clearly as a cat face without being cartoonish. The white plush trim pads the arch all the way round, which keeps the rim soft if your cat leans against it or rests their chin on the edge. The half-open design means cats can see what is happening in the room while still feeling three walls around them.
Dangling toy — inside the bed
A white pom-pom ball hangs on a cord from the inside roof peak. It sits at exactly the right height for a cat lying inside to reach up and bat it without leaving the bed. This is more useful than it sounds — cats that are uncertain about a new bed often approach it to investigate the toy first, and end up staying. The cord is fixed to the roof seam; it is not designed to be removed.
Removable inner cushion
The base cushion is semi-circular and sits inside the dome floor. It lifts out completely so you can wash it separately. The outer dome can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth. For households where the bed gets heavy daily use, being able to pull the cushion out and put it in the machine makes a real difference to how long the bed stays in rotation rather than in the bin.
Three sizes for different cats
Small (31×27×27cm) suits kittens and small adult cats up to around 3–4kg. Medium (37×34×33cm) is the most versatile — fits most standard domestic cats comfortably. Large (42×42×35cm) gives bigger cats or cats who like to sprawl more room. If your cat is between sizes, size up — a dome that is slightly too large is used; one that is slightly too small will be ignored after the first try.

Honest notes
Not fully enclosed: PawDome™ has a large open front arch — it is not a sealed igloo. Cats that specifically want a completely dark, fully enclosed space may prefer a different bed. If your cat likes to see what is going on around them while resting, the half-open design works well.
The dangling toy: The pom-pom cord is sewn into the roof seam — it is not designed to be detached. If you have a cat that chews cords, supervise initial use and remove the toy if needed by cutting the cord close to the seam.
Sizing: The size guide is approximate. Cats that like to curl up tightly are fine in the stated size. Cats that sprawl out fully may find the S or M feel cramped once they relax completely — size up if in doubt.
New bed introductions: Leave the bed in a spot your cat already visits rather than somewhere you want it to go. Place a worn item of your clothing inside for the first few days. Most cats come round within a week.
Questions & answers
Is this suitable for dogs?
PawDome™ is designed and sized for cats. The lifestyle images show cats only, and the largest size (42×42×35cm) is suitable for bigger cats but would be too small for most dogs. It is not recommended for dogs.
How open is the front — will my cat feel enclosed?
The arch opening takes up most of the front face of the dome — it is a large open entrance, not a small hole. Your cat can see the full room from inside and enter and exit easily. There is a roof overhead and walls on three sides, so there is a sense of being sheltered without feeling trapped. Cats that actively prefer fully enclosed dark dens may want something more sealed; most cats find this balance comfortable.
Which size should I order?
Small (31×27×27cm) suits kittens and cats up to around 4kg. Medium (37×34×33cm) fits most adult domestic cats and is the most popular size. Large (42×42×35cm) is for bigger cats or those who like space to stretch. If your cat is between sizes, go larger — cats will use a slightly big bed; they tend to reject one that feels tight.
Can I wash it?
The inner cushion is removable and machine washable on a gentle cycle. The outer dome shell should be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth rather than fully submerged. Washing the cushion regularly and spot-cleaning the outer when needed keeps the bed fresh without putting the whole structure through a wash.
Is the dangling toy safe?
The pom-pom toy is attached by a cord sewn into the inside roof seam. It is designed for gentle batting from inside the bed, not vigorous pulling. If you have a cat that chews or pulls cords aggressively, supervise the first few sessions. The cord can be cut close to the roof seam to remove the toy if needed — this will not affect the structure of the bed.
My cat is ignoring the bed — what should I do?
Normal behaviour. Place the bed somewhere your cat already chooses to rest rather than where you want it to go. Put a worn item of your clothing inside — your scent is the quickest way to signal the bed is safe. The dangling toy also helps: dangle it in front of your cat near the bed entrance to encourage them to step inside. Give it a week before drawing any conclusions.
